Whether you’re new to church or new to Kilmarnock, we’d love to welcome you to Kilmarnock Baptist Church (KBC). Come along—just as you are—and see what we’re all about.

What’s it all about?

Christianity is about being made right with God—not because of what we’ve done, but because of what Jesus has done for us.

We believe Jesus is God’s Son, who came to earth to live the perfect life we never could, died in our place for the wrong we’ve done, and rose again to bring us forgiveness, freedom, and real hope for the future.

Our faith is one of joy, hope, and humble forgiveness—and church service is a weekly reflection and celebration of that. We gather to worship God, encourage one another, and grow in faith together. Whether you’re exploring or already following Jesus, you’re so welcome.

Come As You Are

Jesus said, “I have not come to call those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”

Church isn’t for perfect people—it’s a place for the broken, the questioning, the hopeful, and the curious. It’s like a hospital for the sinner, where we come to Jesus for freedom, grace, and restoration. No need to pretend or perform—just come as you are.

Consider a Course

Twice a year (sometimes more often) we run a course to explore what Christianity is all about, who Jesus is and how he can transform your life.

It is a group course where we present our beliefs and why we hold these things to be true, we don’t pressure you into converting or making a decision. We simply say “this is what the Bible says about life, Jesus and our souls” then let you make your mind up. If you are interested in coming to one of these let us know.

If you don’t like the idea of a group course we can read the Bible 1-1 using an App called The Word one to one which simply walks you through the gospel of John (a book of the bible) to help us understand the truth of Jesus. Again, there’s no pressure to decide anything, it’s simply someone coming alongside you to help you understand what the Bible says about Jesus.

Where do you meet?
We meet every Sunday at 10:30am at Shortlees Community Centre, Blacksyke Avenue, Kilmarnock.

What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in! Most people dress casually, while some prefer to dress a bit smarter. You’ll fit in either way.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes—kids are always welcome! We love having families in our service. We’re relaxed about noise and movement, and we run a Kids Church during the sermon, a crèche for little ones, and Youth group in the evenings.

Is there parking?
Yes—there’s plenty of free parking available at the community centre.

How long are the services?
They usually last about 1 hour and 20 minutes and are designed to be engaging, interactive, and easy to follow, whether you’re familiar with church or not.
